Dr. Deborah O’Reilly
Dr. O’Reilly originally hails from Dublin, Ireland where she studied Dentistry. It was in Ireland that she met her husband, Maitray, who was also studying Dentistry as an international student from Canada. Dr. O’Reilly decided to pursue her Orthodontic training at the University of Western Ontario and subsequently settled in Kitchener-Waterloo where she now lives with her husband and their teacup-poodle Cece.
During her time at Western, Dr. O’Reilly was decorated with the John and Nancy Murray Prize and the P.J. Blake Memorial Award. As part of her specialization, Dr. O’Reilly successfully completed her thesis entitled “Validation Study On The Differentiation Of Human Periodontal Ligament Cells In The Presence Of Cementum Protein 1 and Periostin” (available at the link).
Dr. O’Reilly is an active member of the Ontario Association of Orthodontists, the Canadian Association of Orthodontists and the American Association of Orthodontists.

Dr. Claire Tjan
Dr. Tjan pursued a residency at the University of Toronto for specialty training in Orthodontics after graduating as a general dentist in 1987 from the University of Toronto and spending a year at the Toronto Western Hospital as a dental intern. In 1990, she graduated as a licensed specialist in Orthodontics. In 1991, she earned her Master of Science degree for her research in the area of Three-Dimensional CT scans in craniofacial patients (conducted at the University of Toronto and Hospital for Sick Children). She is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Orthodontics. In addition to practicing in KW, Dr. Tjan gave back to her school by serving as a clinical instructor for 15 years at the Graduate Orthodontic Clinic at the University of Toronto. During her time outside of the clinic, Dr. Tjan is learning how to add more spin to her tennis backhand and how to locate portage entries more efficiently.

Amy has a tremendous passion towards orthodontics and has been blessed to be a part of the KW Orthodontics family since 2011. She finds it rewarding to be involved in the patient’s journey to a healthy smile and to see the transformations. Aside from being dedicated and providing exceptional care to the patients, she enjoys taking family excursions with her husband and 5 young children. She also ensures there is room to love her two dogs, Chubby and Rascal, who provide unconditional love to the entire family. Her children are constantly trying to convince her to add a new family member. Only time will tell…

Himani was born and raised in India, where she began her dental career. Her sole purpose for moving to Canada was to enhance her growth. As a dental assistant, she has a compassionate chairside manner. In her spare time, she likes to work out and be in shape. Himani aims to learn more about dentistry and advance in her career, apart from that she’s also a social butterfly who likes to branch out as an Instagram blogger. You might come across her in a nursing home where she serves as a personal support worker considering she has a warm place in her heart for seniors.
